Open mobilizing meetings
Plug into local reproductive justice organizing

Join other activists in a grassroots, intersectional effort to defend abortion and all reproductive justice. The U.S. Supreme Court decision on the Mississippi case, Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, will undoubtedly gut, if not destroy, abortion rights for most people. People of color and poor and working women will be hardest hit. Destruction of the federal right to abortion will further embolden our state’s patriarchal far right, which already targets Planned Parenthood and other clinics.
Make a difference as you work with like-minded feminists and learn new skills, such as organizing rallies and doing community outreach.

Monthly organizing meeting
Feminists respond to the assaults on working women and poor people

The longest federal government shutdown in history denied over 40 million access to food and paychecks to federal workers which especially impact women and people of color. Elected officials weaponized hunger by withholding funds from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). These federal programs provide food to many vulnerable people including children, disabled, and the elderly. Trump’s administration demanded states “undo” full payments. Discuss why this happening now, what community members have been doing to help and what more can be done to continue organizing. Also, hear updates on Radical Women activities. Everyone welcome.

Seattle Book launch for Puyallup Tribe Leader Ramona Bennett Bill

A lifelong activist and former Puyallup Tribal Chair, Ramona Bennett Bill led the successful takeover of Cascadia Juvenile Center in Tacoma in the 1970s. Her book provides eyewitness accounts of historic turning points in the Native American movement, from Northwest fishing rights battles and the occupation of Fort Lawton in Seattle, to confrontations at Wounded Knee, Alcatraz, and the federal Bureau of Indian Affairs. A strong feminist, Bennett Bill also led efforts to protect Native children from being robbed of their families and culture.

Feminists fight attacks on the social safety net

Trump recently signed into law the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” which included the most draconian budget cuts in U.S history. These cuts will gut Medicaid, food assistance programs, and put millions of lives at risk. Guest speaker Mariana Morante, Deputy Director for Research and Policy at SEIU 775, will present on the federal legislation’s impact on thousands of home healthcare workers in Washington state. These workers could lose their jobs, and their clients will lose the assistance they depend on. Explore what workers can do to fight back against MAGA cutbacks and attacks on immigrant workers.
