Social Crisis and Mental Health: A Feminist Perspective

Coupled with cuts in medical and social services, plus growing homelessness and domestic violence, the already severe mental health crisis is only going to get worse. Learn how economic and political uncertainty add to the burden of stress and isolation. Bring your ideas on where action is needed and how to defend our sisters and siblings in crisis.

First Nations’ leadership in the Australian anti-fascist movement

Australia, like the U.S., is a nation founded by European colonists who committed genocide against Native people as they stole their land and resources. Police violence, deaths in custody, stolen children, and extreme poverty cause daily harm to Australia’s original inhabitants. Now, with white supremacy on the rise, First Nations people provide essential leadership in defense of all targeted people. Hear Melbourne Radical Women members Debbie Brennan and Marina Perkovich report on the state of the movement to stop the far-right by Indigenous people and allies among feminists, LGBTQI+ folks and working-class activists.

The meeting will also feature updates from Radical Women members around the U.S. Everyone welcome.

Stop the War on Health

Multiracial march - No Cuts to Medicaid

What is the source of the unprecedented assault on health care that is being waged by the Trump administration? Cuts to Medicaid will cause immense suffering for women of color, children and disabled people. Dangerous medical myths are displacing well-documented science. Slashed funding for public health research and services will fuel death and disease around the world. Dr. Susan Massey, a Senior Public Health Researcher at Arizona State University, will discuss how these foreseeable tragedies serve the far-right agenda. Be part of a discussion on how those most impacted can join together to resist the cuts. Let’s talk about building a society where health, justice, and shared abundance are everyone’s right.

Why a general strike should matter to women

Jubilant labor activists.

Women are attacked from all sides by Trump and his cronies – at work, at home and of course, our very bodies. How do feminists build the support to effectively fight back? Militant activists have called for organizing a general strike. What is a general strike? And why should feminists get involved? Is a combined labor, feminist and queer movement what is needed to push back the hard right?

Discuss the importance for these movements banding together to defeat the right-wing onslaught.

There will also be updates on actions and activities by Radical Women members and supporters across the U.S.
