Keep resistance alive in 2025!
Let’s take a collective breath as we approach the New Year. We are entering a period of tough and perhaps uncharted challenges. But together we have the tenacity, strength, optimism and know-how to keep our fight advancing. There have been a lot of important steps forward in the past year — from impressive labor strikes to inspiring mobilizations for reproductive justice and trans people; from growing movements for Palestinian liberation to resilient defense of refugee justice. From Australia to the U.S., we will focus our united strength on defending those gains and protecting the rights of immigrants, refugees, unionists, protesters and others targeted by government repression and the far-right around the globe. Here’s what a few of Radical Women’s far-flung and energetic activists have to say about the past year and the coming period.

“2024 has highlighted the impact that Radical Women, our sister organization the Freedom Socialist Party, and the National Mobilization for Reproductive Justice have on the movements. From our intervention at the Democratic National Convention, to protesting the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation conference and religious bigots organizing to take our reproductive rights, we’ve built ourselves into the leaders the revolution needs. Let’s show them how it’s done!” — Kristina L., San Francisco, California

“Organizing shoulder to shoulder with feminists and unionists nationally to engage organized labor in the fight for reproductive freedom was exhilarating! We refuse to be silenced as we challenge the notion that abortion and reproductive healthcare are ‘just women’s issues.’ I’m rolling up my sleeves for 2025.” — Jordana S., Portland, Oregon

“The resistance ignited by Zionist genocide has linked movements at the grass roots. Solidarity with Palestine also means defending our rights to speak out and organise at workplaces, on campuses and in the streets. Fighters for First Nations sovereignty, refugee rights, democratic militant unionism and climate justice are facing state repression and Nazi harassment. I welcome 2025 and breaking even more ground alongside these fellow warriors.” — Debbie B., Melbourne, Australia

“This year, I got my first taste of working-class solidarity and collective activism: chanting at the International Women’s Day march in solidarity with Palestine, learning about Middle Eastern feminism in our study group, attending a Palestine fundraiser with my socialist sisters, presenting a report on feminist anti-globalism in the 1999 Seattle WTO protests. These are just a few of many highlights. In 2025, I look forward to helping protect the most vulnerable among us from the tyranny of the incoming administration and its cronies via a rapid response team. When I signed up, I thought of Fannie Lou Hamer’s words ‘Nobody’s free until everybody’s free’!” — Lina B., Seattle, Washington

“Another year brought opportunities to be part of the fight against racism, sexism, homophobia, anti-trans bigotry, and labor exploitation! I am proud to be a member of an organization that called for a national labor conference on reproductive justice. Not just with rhetoric, but on the streets in D.C. facing down an anti-abortion crowd, Radical Women demonstrated its commitment to having a militant presence. The challenges will continue in 2025; we will face them with the strength of our solidarity! — Ruth R., Palo Alto, California
