Feminist prisoners in Iran denounce Israeli and U.S. military assaults
Statement by four women political prisoners from Evin Prison:
Reyhaneh Ansari, Sakineh Parvaneh, Verisheh Moradi, and Golrokh Iraee
It [Israel] emerged as America’s military base in the Middle East, as the representative of the post–World War II global powers in the region, and from the very beginning, it demonstrated its brutality to the world—in Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, and most recently through the genocide in Gaza.
In none of these countries was a nuclear bomb found, nor were there any preparations for enrichment.
Genocide needs no rational justification, but Western democracy, to justify its continual savagery across the world and to maintain the democratic façade it claims, is always in search of an excuse.
The identities of the United States and the “fascist Israeli regime” have been formed through “aggression” and “child-killing,” and wherever they have set their sights, they have brought nothing but war and devastation.
The attack on Iran, the killing of civilians, and the destruction of the country’s infrastructure by the “Zionist regime” and its American backers is condemned—just like their other crimes around the world and in the Middle East. And likewise, the support for Israel and reliance on its destructive power by any individual, group, or political current—regardless of their dreams or beliefs—is also condemned and a reflection of the baseness and vileness of its supporters.
The liberation of us, the people of Iran, from the dictatorship ruling the country is possible through the struggle of the masses and by relying on social forces—not by placing our hopes in or depending on foreign powers. Powers that have always, through exploitation and colonialism, through warmongering and mass killings, sought to gain more profit and brought only destruction to the countries of the region will bring us nothing but ruin and a new form of exploitation.
The destruction of Syria’s infrastructure after Assad’s downfall and the replication of that model in Iran points to Israel’s lust for a weak and submissive Middle East. And this reveals the fact that in the new design for the Middle East, only a regime that fully and unconditionally accepts “Israel’s” dominance over the region can endure.
Traitors to Iran,
Traitors to the peoples of the Middle East,
Traitors to years of people’s struggles for freedom and against oppression—
know that your treason and baseness will be recorded in the memory of the Iranian people and in history.
Future generations will remember with disgrace those who danced on the corpses of defenseless people.

Reyhaneh Ansari is a longtime labor and anti capitalist activist who is currently serving a four-year prison sentence in Iran.
Sakineh Parvaneh is a Kurdish political and civil rights activist with a long history of unlawful imprisonment. She is currently serving a 7.5-year sentence.
Verisheh Moradi is a Kurdish women’s rights activist who has unjustly been sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
Golrokh Iraee is a human rights and leftist activist with a long history of persecution and previous imprisonments. She is currently serving a seven-year prison sentence.
