Radical Women - International Women's Day Greetings to Radical Women from Peasants Women Welfare Foundation (Pakistan)

On this year Peasants Women Welfare Foundation celebrate the Women's day with great accomplishment because they done many deeds through hard work. Peasant's women faced much destitution in their life. They work from dawn to dusk in fields with their families. Their children also help in their work.

International Women's Day is celebrated in Okara on 8 March. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. It is an occasion for looking back on past struggles and accomplishments, and more importantly, for looking ahead to the untapped potential and opportunities that await future generations of women. The theme for 2010 is "Equal rights, equal opportunities: Progress for all." In this program women show their courage for more struggles in the movement. They said that all these obstacles are giving us more courage and strength to fight and to celebrate 8th March 2010.

Each year on 8 March, International Women's Day events occur Chak No 10/4L Okara, Punjab, Pakistan. The event range from small random informal gatherings to large-scale highly organized events. All celebrate women's advancement and highlights the need for continued vigilance and action.

March 8 is a day of review and analysis of our weaknesses and achievements and it is the day to chalk out new plan of action and strategies to over come the constraint, it is a day of struggle for women's liberation and a day for struggle to getting their legal rights.

The spoke person highlighted the problems of Pakistani women are celebrating March 8th in very critical situation. War is going on in different cities of Pakistan in which innocent women and children lost their lives, suicide attacks are killing innocent people, working women are working in harsh condition, women work is not recognize, women especially workingwomen, are facing harsh exploitation, harassment and violence, unrecognized work, unsecured and temporary jobs, low wages as compare to their male counterparts. Violence against women is on the rise, thousands women are working in informal sector and there is no legislations for informal sector and domestic workers.

Today is international women's day and a chance to focus on the promotion of women's rights and gender equality that remain at the heart of PWWF's work to reduce poverty. The majority of the poor in Pakistan are women. Ongoing discrimination against women over access to education, health service, employment and property must be tackled to change this picture. Its in areas such as education and agriculture crucial to the future livelihood of many poor people in the Pakistan, where opportunities for girls and women are so less.

One hundred years ago, at the Second International Socialist Women's Conference, participants from 17 countries voted unanimously to create a day to honor the struggles of working class women. International Women's Day was born, and it's been celebrated in countries across the globe ever since.

Women now, just as they did one hundred years ago, hold a unique economic and social position in society – oppressed in the home and super-exploited in the workplace. Women suffer more frequently from poverty; they labor long hours at home, raising the young and nursing the aged and sick; and they often also perform double-duty outside the home, working for lower wages than their male counterparts. This harsh reality makes women the best and toughest leaders of movements fighting for social and economic justice. In other words, women always have everything to gain and little to lose by organizing for a better world. As the South African song proclaims, "When you strike a woman, you strike a rock!"

Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated on 8th March every year. This women's day is a major day for celebrating the achievements and assistance of the women from all over the world at inexpensive, supporting and common level.

With the celebration of the International Women's Day 2010, there exists also a need to inspire the village women to contact outer world to become successful. Even till now the women are ill-treated by the men. So they need an appropriate communication level to prove themselves. It's not only of the duty of single women to be good after facing many hardships of the life. Instead if the team efforts are made only then women can become independent and take care of her family. Cultural functions will be organized in which poems, events; incidents related to the women will be said. Many global corporations have also started to more actively support IWD by running their own internal events and through supporting external ones. Year on year IWD is certainly increasing in status. The Peasants Women even designates the whole month of March as 'Women's History Month'.

International Women's Day (8 March) is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.
